    Anime lovers who are also fond of MMORPGs were excited to find out that Sword Art Online, the Japanese light novel series, has been adapted into an anime. Although there are a lot of criticisms about the overall quality of Sword Art Online, there is no doubt that it is well-liked by many anime fans.

    In 2022, a virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game (VRMMORPG) called Sword Art Online (SAO) is planned to be released with the NerveGear, a helmet that stimulates the user’s five senses via their brain.

    Players can experience and control them in-game characters with their minds. Both the game and the NerveGear were created by Akihiko Kayaba. 10,000 players log into SAO’s mainframe cyberspace for the first time, only to discover that they are unable to log out. Kayaba appears and tells the players that they must beat all 100 floors of Aincrad, a steel castle which is the setting of SAO if they wish to be free.

The series takes place in the near future and focuses on “Kirito” Kirigaya and Asuna Yuuki as they play through various virtual reality MMORPG worlds. Kawahara originally wrote the series as a web novel on his website.

    As in all role-playing games, the player assumes the role of a character in a fantasy world and takes control over many of that character’s actions. MMORPGs are distinguished from single-player or small multi-player online RPGs by the number of players able to interact together and by the game’s hosted by the game’s publisher.

    Btooom is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Junya Inoue. It has been serialised in Weekly Comic Bunch since 2009 and later in Monthly Comic Bunch, with chapters collected into 26 volumes.

    Btooom follows the adventures of Ryōta Sakamoto, an unemployed and isolated young man who is one of the world’s top players in the titular video game. After Ryōta is nominated to participate in the real-life version of the game, he becomes trapped inside it and meets his love interest Himiko, who was his in-game wife.
