After the huge success of Arifureta Season 1, the announcement of Arifureta Season 2 has been created a buzz in the market. As per the previous announcement made, the second season of this wonderful anime will be joined by two OVA episodes. Arifureta Season 1 has been remained in the news previously due to the involvement of sharp disagreement within the fanbase. You can see the Arifureta Season 2 first trailer and a visual later in this article.

Arifureta is produced by the White Fox Studio which is also responsible for Re: Zero Season 3. The first OVA episode is directly from the main story where the Vampire perspective is being featured for the readers. It is mainly the recap episode that includes some additional extra animated scenes as well. The second episode is not going to air yet and the reason is the involvement of sexual content included in it.

The 15th episode of Arifureta i.e. The Beginning of Love at the Hot Spring is expected to ship with Volume 3. The title alone is quite enough to level up the readers’ excitement. The episode is all about Hajime and Yue’s first love in the dungeon. The upcoming episodes of Arifureta OVA are being produced by the same animation studio staff.

Arifureta Anime: Is It Having Some Production Issues?

The major issues in the production of Arifureta anime are there in its story itself. Being announced in December 2017, the anime was supposed to be on the market by April 2018, but due to some production issues, it was delayed until July 2019. If we check out the previous schedules, we can expect two or three months delaying in the final release of the anime but the gap of a year is quite notable especially when the project is being produced by White Fox (The Devil Is a Part Timer Season 2, Goblin Slayer Season 2, and Re:Zero) animation studio.

The early character designs of Hajime and Yue were not so impressive and were highly criticized by the fans. Even some anime fans termed them as one of the low-budget side products and that is something White Fox or no other company will love to hear from their audience.

White Fox stopped out talking about the project publically. But as of now, everything is moving towards normalization. Due to the involvement of so many production issues, the final product suffered a lot and hence got delayed for more than a year.

Comparison of Arifureta Manga and Light Novel Series to Anime

The story of Arifureta begins with the Arifureta web novel that was being self-published by the authors Ryo Shirakome on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website. Arifureta is a 179 chapters’ story whose English translation is available there online absolutely for free. The entire story is a collection of sequel chapters that are being focused on random characters and years have also been set thereafter main events.

Characters are being developed more and more every year and plot points are also being expanded as per the different updates. The story has been expanded further as per Arifureta Zero light novel series. The story moves around the tale of Oscar Orcus such as how he lived up his living and how a low-ranking synergist to a man challenged the god Ehit. The English translations for both light novel series are being released by the J-Novel Club.

Arifureta Manga series includes the stories from both Zero spin-off and main story. The main story is a 5 volume edition by RoGa whereas the Zero Manga is a 3 volume edition by Ataru Kamichi. All of the English translations of the Arifueta Manga series are being handled by Seven Seas Entertainment.

The majority of the fans of the Light novel series are not satisfied with Arifureta Manga Series as it already has skipped out a lot of content and has made changes in certain details also. Moreover, the character development already has been skimmed out and the progression of the romance between Hajime and Yue also has been changed to a greater extent.

Arifureta Anime is featured with condensed content where the story events from Volume 1 have been reordered. It is an apparent attempt by the publishers to draw the attention of the audience by introducing the darkest moment from Hajime’s life.

This non-linear ordered story has kept many audiences left in confusion from the very first episode and it is also missing the worldbuilding and character motivations part. The main skipped parts of the story are not missing but they are being introduced somewhere in between via flashbacks. The presence of entire recap episodes seems to be quite unusual after the release of so many episodes.
