Since the launch of the anime adaptation in October 2020, Gege Akutami’s manga series “Jujutsu Kaisen” has been on the road to success. But the author already has the end in mind, which, however, still has numerous chapters in the distance.
Manga Should End “Probably” in two Years
In a television interview a few days ago, Mangaka Gege Akutami spoke about the fact that he “probably” wants to end his series in about two years. He adds, however, that he is not yet so sure of this statement.
The moderator asked Akutami how far the manga was compared to the main checkpoints of Mount Fuji, to which he replied that the story was “approximately at the sixth or seventh station”. The stations along the various paths leading to the summit of Mount Fuji start at the fifth station and end with the ninth station before the summit.Akutami also said that he has already decided in principle how the story will end. The outcome of the story for Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro is even expected to be determined, while the future of Sukuna is still open.
“Jujutsu Kaisen” has been published in the “Weekly Shounen Jump” magazine since March 2018. Shueisha has so far published 15 volumes in Japanese trade. The anime can be seen at Crunchyroll.
High school student Yuji is rather inconspicuous, but behind his unassuming facade lies tremendous power. The school’s sports clubs dream of Yuji joining them, but he prefers to hang out with the spinners from the club for paranormals. One day the members of the club get their hands on a sealed, cursed object. When they open the seal, they have no idea what horror they are conjuring up.
