The Finale Explained
Well, I still cannot interpret what transcendence exactly is. As always, the same classic narrative, the villain dies and the hero wins. Cadogan is killed by a shot in the back by Clarke, no fancy death. He killed so one to only be able to transcend which he is ultimately failed at. Sheidheda is not so surprisingly killed by Indra, it seems fitting as she had to face a lot of atrocities by Sheidhedha and also because he had killed her father. Clarke fails the test because she had committed a lot of murders and hence she cannot transcend. Even though it seems like a punishment initially but later we find out that all her loved ones chose not to transcend. They all eventually meet at Earth. The only punishment given to them is that they cannot pro-create which means that this was the end of humanity as a race.
The series ended with the characters facing the ultimate test of survival and sacrifice. The ending served both the purpose of moving and why it happened in the first place. Clarke and her friends finally understood their true purpose. The ending is pretty dark if you actually think about it.
The 100 Season 8: The Big Reveal
Even though there will not be a The 100 Season 8 either on Netflix or on The CW (Charmed Season 4) but there are chances of seeing a glimpse of the show more. Season 7, the 8th episode of The 100 titled “Anaconda” was more of a flashback episode. It is speculated that this episode can be a pilot to a new prequel which will be seen most likely on The CW, HBO Max or on Netflix.
According to TVLine, there will be a prequel to The 100: Second Dawn and it will be 2 years post the apocalypse rather than 100 years which is there in the initial series.
