And because of its huge popularity, this TV series is nominated in several awards, including Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in Comedy Series.
So with such a great feedback that it gets and the huge cliffhanger ending it always gives us (both of the first and second season), will we see Dead to Me season 3?
Will We See Dead to Me Season 3?
Drum roll please… the answer is yes! Netflix (The Dragon Prince Season 4) has officially confirmed back in July 2020—just a couple of months after the second season was released—that they will continue with Dead to Me season 3, which will be the third and final season.
For now, Dead to Me season 3 is still under development, as the shooting process started in May. And with many factors considered—including the main actress Christina Applegate who needs a break for her medical condition from Multiple Sclerosis, thus delay the filming—we can expect to see Dead to Me season 3 in 2022.
Dead to Me Season 3: How the Story Will Go?
The second season—just like the first season—ends with a cliffhanger, in which Judy and Jen get into a car crash. Dead to Me season 3 will pretty much continue the story from there.
The first season tells us the story of how Judy is the one behind the hit-and-run that makes Jen’s husband dead. And the second season is about how Jen kills Steve. What about Dead to Me season 3? Who is going to die? And whose secret is it going to be?
The secret could be Ben’s, as he crashes Jen and Judy’s car. He could hurt Jen but got away with it. So in the next installment, we can see Jen and Judy tries to confront Ben if he turns out to be a threat. The body of Steve could also be found, and that will involve Jen and Judy again.
Not only that, Steve’s money laundering activities can also come up in Dead to Me season 3.
The next season will show us how Charlie and Henry will be parented by Judy and Jen, and how Charlie might discover their secrets.
And it would be interesting to see Jen who gets pregnant, and the impacts it gives to Judy who experienced miscarriages in the past. The last season will be heavy with emotions, and definitely it will provide the ending that the two leading ladies—and the audiences—deserve.
Dead to Me Season 3: Who Will be in It?
The lead characters will still be played by the same main actress who are Linda Cardellini as Judy Hale and Christina Applegate as Jen Harding.
There will also be Diana-Maria Riva as Detective Ana Perez, James Marsden as Ben Wood, Sam McCarthy as Charlie Harding, and Luke Roessler as Henry Harding.
Another cast include Brandon Scott as Nick, Max Jenkins as Christopher Doyle, Katey Sagal as Eleanor Hale, Suzy Nakamura as Karen, and Valerie Mahaffey as Lorna Harding. New faces can appear as well in the new story.
