Based on a 2016 novel by British author Anthony Horowitz with the same title, Magpie Murder is an upcoming mystery, crime, fiction TV show that will be released on PBS/BritBox. The novel was on the list of best-seller of 2016 in United Kingdom, and now it comes to our screen.
The novel of Magpie Murders is the first novel of the Susan Ryeland series. Susan Ryeland herself is the editor of Alan Conway, a mystery author whose novel revolves around Atticus Pund. Magpie Murders season 1 will follow the story of Susan Ryeland who cannot wait for Conway to finish his novel. When Susan goes to Conway’s home to get the final chapters, it turns out that Conway is dead and the final chapters are gone. Someone might have stolen the final chapters and killed Conway.
The series is planned to consist of six episodes and will be distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures Television. The novel receives 3.94 out of 5 stars on Goodreads.
The Executive Producer of the series Susanne Simpson praised Anthony Horowitz—the author of the novel—for his work, as he is a master of mystery writer. She also said that Magpie Murders is a beautiful and complex work with a very intriguing story.

Magpie Murders Season 1: When Will It be Released?
It has been officially confirmed that all of the episodes will be released on the same day on February 10, 2022, on Britbox UK (Murder in Provence).

Magpie Murders Season 1: What Is It About?
More or less the story will be similar to the story in the novel. As mentioned previously, the story will be about the editor Susan Ryeland who tries to get the final chapters of the unfinished novel by Alan Conway. She finds out that someone has stolen the final chapters and killed Alan Conway.
Feeling so upset with the fact that Alan Conway is dead and the final chapters are missing, Susan Ryeland tries to investigate to find out who killed Alan Conway and finds the final chapters. It is possible that the novel is, in fact, based on a true event. Someone who wanted Alan Conway to die could be the one who took the final chapters because they don’t want the story to come out.
This ‘whodunnit’ TV show will also include another story, which is the story inside Alan Conway’s novel. It revolves around a famous detective Atticus Pund who is called by a woman whose fiance becomes a suspect of a murder. It turns out that everyone in the small village is a suspect. And with the help of his assistant, he almost unravels the mystery case.
