Usher gradually makes clear that his twin sister Madeline has been placed in the family vault not quite dead. When she reappears in her blood-stained shroud, the visitor rushes to leave as the entire house splits and sinks into a lake.

At first, the narrator arrives at a scary house, the Usher House. This part is mostly about the house rather than Usher or his sisters. The narrator mentions the gloomy atmosphere of the house and what appears to be a ghost. tension then arises when Usher gets sick, and the narrator is expected to help. In addition, Usher’s disease is unknown and may be fatal. Tensions run high as he predicts his own death from pure terror. Because of Madeline and the air in the household, things get more complicated. Madeline complicates matters by introducing another potential cause of Roderick’s madness.
His illness is a mystery and his death and burial contribute to the eerie atmosphere. Roderick’s belief that his house is still alive contributes to the rise in supernatural beliefs that dominate the narrative. Things reached a climax when Usher looked worried as Madeline arrived in the doorway. All the strange noises and superstitious emotions had led them up to this point. Usher’s predictions of his own death come true when he dies of terror. After that, the narrator runs away from the house. Lastly, The House of Usher is completely gone with no trace at all.
