Showtime‘s Dexter New Blood, the sequel series to the infamous series Dexter has reached it’s final conclusions. In the previous eight season of Dexter and Dexter New Blood we see how Miami PD’s analyst Dexter Morgan murders people who only engage in the same act as him. But fans were left disappointing with the previous series ending now came into surprise of the new series ending.
But, will there be Dexter New Blood Season 2? Well, you don’t need to be serial killer to answer that we will tell you everything you need to know about Dexter New Blood Season 2!
Why there will be no more Dexter New Blood Season 2?
Judging by the events of the recently released Season 1 finale, it looks like “Dexter: New Blood” is a one-and-done series. “New Blood” sees Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) attempt a new life 10 years after he fakes his death in the “Dexter” series finale. He has a new name, new girlfriend, and even a new “Dark Passenger,” with his deceased sister Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) now the one he talks to in order to suppress his murderous urges.
All is seemingly going well for Dexter, as he hasn’t killed in 10 years. That is, until his son from his life in Miami, Harrison (Jack Halcott), shows up and they both bond over their similar need for killing. After a string of events unfold in Dexter’s town that forces him to kill several innocents, Dexter and Harrison realize that Dexter would kill anyone, even outside his personal code of only killing those who harm others. Meanwhile, Harrison thinks of the lives he’s saving by killing, making him different from his father. Harrison and Dexter come to the conclusion that Harrison is better off without his father in his life, and Dexter persuades Harrison to fatally shoot him.
But not all hope is lost that fans might see another season of “New Blood,” even with its eponymous character dead. The series showrunner, Clyde Phillips, said he would continue Harrison’s story if he was asked. “It’s up to Showtime to make the call to me if they want more. If they ask me if I’d like to make a continuation of this, I would say yes,” said Phillips
