Update: Sony has revealed the official list of free games of July 2021 of which only one of the leak is confirmed. See the officially free PS Plus games of the month of July.
PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) games for July 2021 have not been officially announced by Sony, but possible titles have leaked online: Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, WRC 9, and A Plague Tale: Innocence. This isn’t the first time free PS Plus games have been released this year, and it probably won’t be the last.
PS Plus July 2021: Free Playstation Games
The June 2021 PS Plus games included Star Wars: Squadrons, Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, and Operation: Tango. The first two games are available on PS4, but Operation: Tango is only available on PS5. Currently, gamers can add PlayStation 5 PS Plus titles to their library if they have subscribed to the subscription service, but they won’t be able to play it until they have a PS5 console. However, since it is almost impossible to buy PS5 consoles from retailers due to the shortage, Sony has announced new changes for PS Plus.
The leak for A Plague Tale: Innocence was released earlier in June, but the leaks for WRC 9 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy were released on Reddit after the original sites where they were listed removed them. Given that this Uncharted game is the only one in the franchise that has not yet been available on PS Plus, this lineup is not to be excluded. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a standalone adventure game set in the same universe as the Uncharted series, but it is the first game that does not feature the famous protagonist of the series, Nathan Drake.
A Plague Tale: Innocence is an action-adventure and stealth survival game telling the story of Amicia and her brother who struggle to survive the plague of 1349 in France. This single-player game presents a period and event that is not usually seen in video games and is worth a walk through. The original leak for A Plague Tale: Innocence stated that it would receive a remaster and be a July PS Plus game.
At E3 2021, it was announced that the game would actually receive a remaster for next-generation consoles. This at least suggests that the other half of the leak is also true. WRC 9 is a racing game that was released last year and offers rallies in Kenya, Japan, and New Zealand. This would complete all three games, which corresponds to the number of games available as part of the PS Plus in June.
Although the leak was called fake on Reddit, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and A Plague Tale: Innocence seem like good suppositions – and they would make welcome additions. Although Uncharted is loved by millions of people, some may not have played the last part. The PlayStation Plus has quickly become a great way for gamers to experience titles they haven’t played, and all three of these options are ideal. Let us hope that the rumor is well-founded.
