On the official Twitter account of the original anime SK8 the Infinity it was announced that a new anime project is currently in the works.
Will there be a SK8 the Infinity season 2?
Concrete details about the new anime project, such as the format, the contributors or a date for the release, are not yet known. Thus, it is currently still unclear whether this is a second season, a movie, a bonus episode or something else.
The twelve-part series “SK8 the Infinity” was directed by Hiroko Utsumi (“Banana Fish”) in the studio BONES (“Mob Psycho 100“). Ichiro Ohkouchi (Princess Principal) wrote the screenplay, while Michinori Chiba contributed the character design. Ryo Takahashi (“Citrus”) was responsible for the music.
The original anime was broadcast on Japanese television between January and April 2021 and was shown in the Japanese original sound with English subtitles on Crunchyroll in simulcast.

Reki, a second-year high school student and skater, is addicted to “S,” a top-secret and dangerous downhill skateboarding race that takes place in an abandoned mine. The skaters are particularly crazy about the “beefs”, the heated fights that break out during the races.
Reki takes Langa, who has just returned to Japan, to the mine where the races take place. Langa, who has no skateboarding experience, is drawn into the world of the “S”.
