The show is written by Mosley. It also features Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, Damon Gupton, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Walton Goggins, and Omar Miller.
In addition to Jackson and Mosley, Diane Houslin, Ramin Bahrani, Eli Selden and David Levine, and LaTanya Richardson are also executive producers.
Jackson stars as the character Ptolemy Grey, an old man who is forgotten by his family and friends, and even himself. Left without his trusted caregiver and sinking deeper into lonely dementia, Ptolemy is tasked with caring for orphaned teenager Robyn, played by BAFTA Award nominee Dominique Fishback (Judas and the Black Messiah).
After learning about a treatment that could potentially restore memory to Ptolemy affected by dementia, the pair embark on a journey towards surprising truths about the past, present, and future.

The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray shows Samuel L. Jackson as Ptolemy Grey. He is a terminally ill man with dementia that has been forgotten by his family, friends, and even by himself.
When Ptolemy is suddenly left without his trusted caregiver and on the verge of sinking further into lonely dementia, he is assigned to care for orphaned teenager Robyn, played by Judas and Black Messiah star Dominique Fishback. He then played Deborah Johnson in Judas and the Black Messiah.
