Ash and the team are very good at solving mysteries, but one that remains unsolved is Pikachu’s Black Tail. I know many of you have seen it and have not seen it at the same time. So, are there two Pikachus? One with a yellow tail and one with a black tail?
As you’ve probably seen, Pokemon is a cartoon show we can never stop loving. From debating the best Pokemon games to discovering more about marshadow Pokemon, we’ve covered it all. So, there is no possibility that we will leave this mystery alone without solving it.
Many people claim they have seen a Pikachu with a black-tipped tail, and to be honest, I was one of them. However, I’m also one of those people who has seen a Pikachu with its tail completely covered in yellow. Like many people, I too was confused about this and decided to do some research. Trust me; I was quite surprised that the answer was the Mandala Effect.
Yes, that’s right. The answer behind Pikachu’s Black Tail is the Mandala Effect. So, what is it? and how much do we know about it?
Pikachus Black Tail & The Mandala Effect Theory
Pikachu is an electric pokemon that was introduced in the franchise initially as a Generation I pokemon. Pikachu evolves from Pichu when exposed to very warm friendships. When Pikachu is hit by the Thunder Stone, it will grow into Raichu. In addition, Pikachu is also referred to as the mascot of the Pokemon franchise along with the Nintendo series.
Pikachu is a short, chubby pokemon that resembles an adorable rodent. It has yellow fur with brown stripes on its back but no black tips. Pikachu is the reason behind the franchise’s popularity, and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t. even someone who isn’t a fan of the franchise or who hasn’t seen Pokemon knows about our chubby little mascot Pikachu.
Now let’s move on to Pikachu’s Black Tail theory. The picture of Pikachu with the black tail is fake. Yes, you read that right, dear readers. No black tailed Pikachu has ever existed. Now, you must be wondering if there is no black tailed Pikachu, then how can you possibly see it? It happened because of the Mandala Effect.
To define the Mandala Effect precisely, it is a phenomenon where a group of people share the same false memory. False memory is defined as an event in which a person remembers something that did not happen or happened in a completely different way from the way the person remembers it. Somewhere, someone remembers that they saw Pikachus Black Tail and shared it with several people. Then, those people also shared the same false memory with more people and thus, begins the story of Pikachu’s Black Tail.
This is the truth behind Pikachus Black Tail. If you’ve ever seen a Pikachu with a black tail, it’s because of the Mandala effect and not because you’re hallucinating the cartoon show.
Does Pikachu Have Stripes On its Back?
Well, this one is quite easy to answer. Pikachu does have two brown stripes on its back and it is one of its trademarks as confirmed in everything that Pokémon appears in, regardless of Generation.
Is Pikachu Dead?
Yes, both Pikachu and Ash were killed in an episode of the first series of the cartoon show due to a ghost type pokemon. To defeat Sabrina, Ash goes inside the Pokemon tower dragging Pikachu with him where he encounters a trio of ghost Pokemon. While trying to catch them, a chandelier falls on them, smashing them to the ground, and instantly Haunter, a ghost pokemon, sucks their lives away. However, after much struggle, Haunter gives them their souls back when Ash tells him how important it is to him to become a Pokemon master.
