When will Absolute Duo season 2 be released? Is Absolute Duo renewed or canceled? When is the Absolute Duo 2 season release date officially announced?
Absolute Duo Season 1 premiere on January 4, 2015 on AT-X. The anime also aired on Tokyo MX, KBS, BS11, and other Japanese television networks. Eight Bit Inc. served as a developer of a 12-episode anime adaptation, which is based on a Japanese light novel series of the same name. Takumi Hiiragiboshi is the creator of the light novel. Atsushi Nakayama served as a director of the television version. Absolute Duo Season 1 came to an end on March 22, 2015.
Absolute Duo Season 2 Release Date
Those of you who finished watching Absolute Duo is no doubt looking forward to a Season 2. We bet you found no exact data on the subject while browsing the Internet. Absolute Duo Season 1 concluded back in March 2015, and now, four years since, it’s time to put an end to such a vital question for all the fans of this anime series.
In short, we doubt that Absolute Duo Season 2 ever happen, yet we don’t rule out the renewal, completely. We know that you are frustrated. Nonetheless, you should confess that it’s better to know the truth rather than being in delusion.
First, it’s worth noting that Absolute Duo is a kind of mediocre anime. On MyAnimeList, an overall score of Season 1 is 6.73/10 based on about 170,000 votes. Yet this is not a reason to cancel the series. The more vital indicator is all about source material. As you know, Absolute Duo is based on a Japanese light novel of the same name, which consists of eleven volumes. The latter was issued in 2016, and this is a very bad signal.
The reason for such a long hiatus is that there is nothing actually to adapt. The 1st season of Absolute Duo has covered the entire light novel series. As a result, there is no source for Season 2. Finally, let’s take a look at the BD/DVD sales of the Absolute Duo franchise. Looks like the figures were weak, or even the worst. Only 818 BD disks were sold between June 1st and 7th of 2015, as well as 278 DVD items. We thereby can’t regard Absolute Duo as a commercially successful anime.
After all, 8bit is the studio, which is not the one that might boast renewals. As a rule, 8bit (Knight’s and Magic Season 2, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3) releases the one-cour anime series that later have no Season 2. Summing up, we doubt that we might ever see Absolute Duo Season 2, unfortunately. Of course, you as a fan may doubt and argue on the subject, besides, there are a lot of media outlets that promise Season 2 and even “know” the exact release date for the “upcoming premiere.” Yet sadly all these reports are nothing but fake news. Therefore, we suggest you come to terms with the fact that you’ll never see Absolute Duo Season 2.
Nevertheless, there still remains a chance for renewal if Netflix or any animation studio pays attention to Absolute Duo. In such a case, we might keep hoping. Yet we honestly doubt in such a positive scenario. In any case, we are tracking down the official sources. If studio 8bit (Star Align Season 2) announces Absolute Duo Season 2 someday, we will update this page. Stay tuned for updates. We’ll keep you informed.

Absolute Duo Action
The story unfolds in Koryo Academy, an institution, which is attended by those students, who are capable of materializing weapons from their souls, known as “Blazers.” In the academy, the students try to perfect their abilities. Each student is paired up with another one, hoping that one day they both might gain the power of Absolute Duo.
The primary storyline focuses on Tooru Kokonoe, a student, who attends the Academy. Tooru is struggling to perfect his abilities since he is going to take revenge upon the one who is guilty of his sister’s death.
During the opening ceremony, Tooru must fight with the opponent sitting opposite to him. It’s clear that the loser will have to leave the walls of the Academy. Surprisingly, Tooru discovers that he is the one, who possesses a protective weapon, a shield. He thereby attracts the attention of Julie Sigtuna, a silver-haired girl from Scandinavia, who subsequently becomes his pair.
