blackAF (Netflix)
This comedy series starring creator Kenya Barris was initially renewed for a second season but that order was later rescinded. Barris had a multi-year $100 million deal with the streaming service but moved on in late 2020.
60 Minutes+ (Paramount+)
Based on the venerable CBS series, this newsmagazine was cancelled after one season, there won’t be a second season.
The Activist (CBS)
Due to nearly unending controversy and controversy brought by this show, CBS decided to cut its losses and reworked the show in the future as a documentary special instead.
After Life (Netflix)
From Ricky Gervais, this dark comedy series about a grieving widower comes to a close with season three.
American Rust (Showtime)
The all star drama starring Jeff Bridges and Maura Tierney was cut short before it completed its first full season run, being cancelled just nine episodes in.
Animal Kingdom (TNT)
A gritty crime family drama that was based on an Australian series of the same name, this series ends with its sixth season.
Arthur (PBS)
Based on the children’s books by Marc Brown, this animated educational series ends with its 25th season.
Better Things (FX)
This comedy-drama created by and starring Pamela Adlon ends with its fifth season.
Black-ish (ABC)
The alphabet network announced that the family comedy comes to a close with its eighth and final season.
Bringing Up Bates (UPtv)
This reality series, which follows the very large Bates family, had been renewed for an 11th season and was scheduled to premiere on February 10, 2022. The cable channel decided to pull the plug as it shifts away from unscripted shows.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (NBC)
Season eight of this workplace comedy was supposed to air during the 2020-21 season. However, due to the pandemic, the final season was delayed until the 2021-22 season.
Bull (CBS)
A legal drama starring Michael Weatherly as Dr. Jason Bull, this series follows the employees at Trial Analysis Corporation (TAC), a jury consulting firm. It ends with season six.
Bulletproof (The CW)
A British police procedural series, this show was cancelled in the UK following allegations of sexual misconduct by 20 women against co-creator and star Noel Clarke.
Cowboy Bebop (Netflix)
A live-action version of an anime series, this sci-fi Western about a ragtag group of bounty hunters was cancelled after one season.
The Crown (Netflix)
Created by Peter Morgan, this historical drama chronicles the reign of Elizabeth II; the Queen of the United Kingdom and 15 other Commonwealth realms. It’s been announced that season six is the end.
Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol (Peacock)
Based on Brown’s book, this action mystery series follows a young man who’s hired by the CIA to solve a number of deadly puzzles and his mentor then goes missing. The prospects of a second season went missing too.
Dickinson (Apple TV+)
The streaming service announced that season three is the end for this comedy series about the early life of author Emily Dickinson.
A Discovery of Witches (AMC+)
Based on the trilogy of books by Deborah Harkness, this fantasy romance series concludes with its third season.
The Dr. Oz Show (syndicated)
After 13 seasons, the daytime series is signing off due to host Dr. Mehmet Oz’s decision to run for Senate in Pennsylvania.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated)
The most popular daytime talk show for many years, the host has chosen to end the series with season 19 after strings of controversy and toxic workplace allegations.
The Expanse (Amazon)
This science-fiction drama ran for three seasons on Syfy before being cancelled. Amazon Prime Video (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5) rescued the show and gave it three more years. Season six is the end.
F Is for Family (Netflix)
An adult animated comedy about a dysfunctional Irish-American family in Pennsylvania, this show ended after five seasons.
Family Reunion (Netflix)
Created by Meg DeLoatch, this comedy revolves around a family who travels from Seattle to Georgia for a reunion and decides to stay. The show ends with season three.
Frankie Drake Mysteries (Ovation)
A Canadian crime drama about a female-run detective agency in the 1920s, this show comes to a close with season four.
Gabby Duran & The Unsittables (Disney Channel)
Revolving around a teen who gets a job watching over a group of unruly extraterrestrial children, this comedy aired for two seasons before being cancelled.
Gentefied (Netflix)
A family comedy-drama, this show revolves around three Mexican-American cousins who are chasing the American Dream. It was dropped after two seasons.
Grace and Frankie (Netflix)
Starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, this buddy comedy series, about a pair of divorced women, ends with season seven.
Hanna (Amazon)
Based on the 2011 movie of the same name, this show is about a young woman who’s trained to be a killer and hunter. It ran for three seasons and 22 episodes.
The Harper House (Paramount+)
An adult animated comedy series, this show revolves around a formerly affluent family that has to downsize to an old family home in the poorer side of town. It lasted for one season.
Hawkeye (Disney+)
The streaming service announced that the sixth episode was the final episode of the series.
Head of the Class (HBO Max)
School’s out, for good. A sequel of sorts to the 1980s comedy series, this show lasted one season of 10 episodes before being expelled.
His Dark Materials (HBO)
Based on a trilogy of novels by Philip Pullman, this dramatic fantasy series ends with the third season of episode episodes.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (Amazon Prime Video)
A horror series that was based on the Lois Duncan novel and the feature film, this show lasted for one season of eight episodes.
Insecure (HBO)
It was announced that this comedy series from Issa Rae would end with season five.
Kevin Can F**k Himself (AMC)
A dark comedy that switches between a multi-camera sitcom and a single-camera setup, this show comes to a close after two seasons.
Killing Eve (BBC America)

Law & Order: For the Defense (NBC)

Season three is the end of this series that explores the early origins of the Mexican drug war.

This teen comedy-drama follows four lifelong friends in inner-city Los Angeles. It ends with year four.
Peaky Blinders (Netflix)
A historical crime drama, this show is ending with season six but is expected to have a wrap-up movie.
PEN15 (Hulu)
A comedy about middle school, as seen and played by its adult creators, this show ran for two seasons.
Queen Sugar (OWN)

Trickster (The CW)
A Canadian series, this drama was renewed for a second season but those plans were later cancelled.
Turner & Hooch (Disney+)
A follow-up to the 1989 feature film, this cop and dog comedy starring Josh Peck ran for one season of 12 episodes before being cancelled.
Ultimate Slip ‘N Slide (NBC)
Filming of the competition series was shut down following an outbreak of Giardia. Looking at the logistics and costs of restarting production, the peacock network opted to scrap the show.
The Walking Dead: World Beyond (AMC)
Set 10 years after the zombie apocalypse, this drama follows a group of teens who’ve grown up in this horrific new world. It ends with season two.
