On the official Twitter account of the original anime “Shikizakura” it was announced today that the series will be broadcast on Japanese television from October 2021.

Anime is Produced During Sublimation

“Shikizakura” is directed by Shin’ya Sugai (“Walking Meat”) in Studio Sublimation (CGI animation on “Love Live! Sunshine!!”) Tomoyasu Nishimura (“Maria the Virgin Witch”) acts as producer and K&K Design takes over the character design. A total of twelve episodes with a regular running time of 24 minutes are planned.

The opening song is contributed by the Japanese singer Asaka, who was previously responsible for the first opening of “Laid-Back Camp”. The ending song was written by May Nakabayashi, who is known for the first opening song of “Accel World”.

The original anime “Shikizakura” is described as a science fiction drama set in the near future. The anime is set in the Tokai region and is also produced there.
