So that the filming of season 3 of The Boys is in progress, very few details of the plot have been leaked. The truth is that the most scandalous event in the comics will be adapted into a special episode entitled Herogasm.
Herogasm: Images worthy of an X-rated film
All fans of The Boys Know, the third season of the Amazon Prime (‘Carnival Row Season 2‘) series will feature the most adult plot ever: “Herogasm.” In fact, the plot of the comic strip of the same name features the boys going to an annual retreat sponsored by Vought International. The retreat brings together all the superheroes of the world for a great not very heroic orgy.
Last January, the show’s director, Erik Kripke, joked on Twitter that he had been challenged to perform an episode of Herogasm as soon as he started working on The Boys. He confirmed in the same message that a script featuring this story had been completed for Season 3.
But according to Eric Kripke, this episode was already supposed to be incredibly smoky turned out to be so graphic in his first few takes that if he released it as an end product, it would surely be rated X. On the occasion of an interview with The Wrap, the director said of footage from the Herogasm episode:
I mean, this rush is crazy. If we showed everything we saw in the reeds we would definitely be classified as X. I can’t even feel what we filmed. We will make sure that we are on the right track and that we are scandalous, but not excessive, of course. So there will probably be a lot of self-censorship. But if you’re a fan of books and this particular volume of “Herogasm,” I can tell you that you’re really going to have the whole “Herogasm” experience. There is no doubt.
Then, unedited sequences from the season 3 episode Herogasm of The Boys would certainly be rated X according to Eric Kripke. A statement that should reassure fans about the quality of Season 3, where instead make them enraged by not being able to see them.
The boys follow a group of righteousness led by Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) who is actively trying to take down the most popular superheroes, in particular the sadistic Homelander played by Antony Starr, the leader of the Seven. Season 2 of The Boys has recently been nominated for six Emmy Awards, including Best Drama Series. This satirical superhero series is based on the comic books of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
Waiting for the release of Season 3 of The Boys, which isn’t expected to arrive before 2022, you can always figure out which hero from the Marvel universe will be part of the Herogasm episode.
