It started serialization in Square Enix’s shōnen manga magazine Monthly GFantasy as a one-shot on June 18, 2012, and later it became a full-fledged manga series on January 18, 2013, on the same platform. The manga series comes not only in Japanese but also in English and Spanish. The English version has been published by Yen Press physically and digitally on December 29, 2015, and October 25, 2016, respectively. Meanwhile, the manga series has been licensed in Spanish by ECC Comics.

Upon arrival, she was suddenly challenged by Masamune Matsuoka into a so-called ‘survival game’, a game where the first person who got hit by the bullet of a toy gun will lose.
This turn of events results in a huge mess in the aftermath and in order to repay the cost of damage that Hotaru had done, she was forced by Masamune to join the survival game team. At first, she was not interested even a bit in the offer, and as time goes on, she begins to enjoy working as a team in the survival game. Together, they worked hard to make their biggest dreams come true, and that is by winning Top Combat Game (TCG), a tournament to decide the best survival game team in Japan.
However, Hotaru’s great dedication to the survival game team has to come with a few problems. She is absolutely terrible at the game, and to make matter worse, no females are allowed in the survival game team.
