Archive 81 is coming to Netflix in January 2022. It is a horror series loosely inspired by the podcast of the same name. Rebecca Sonnenshine will be the showrunner, while James Wan will be the executive producer of the project along with his production company Atomic Monster Productions.

Netflix’s official social media account Geeked tweeted this information last week as part of a wide preview from all of Netflix’s upcoming shows in the new year, which includes titles like Season 2 “Alice in Borderland”, the animated series “Army of the Dead: Los Vegas”, Season 3 “Locke & Key”, “Stranger Stuff ,” “Umbrella Academy,” and more.

The two main actors for Netflix’s Archive 81 are Mamadou Athie (The Get Down, Uncorked) and Dina Shibabi (Altered Carbon). Athie will play Dan Turner, the archivist mentioned above. Shibabi will play Melody Pendras. Supporting characters for the series have also been announced: Martin Donovan (Big Little Lies), Matt McGorry (How To Get Away With Murder), Julia Chan (Katy Keene), Evan Jonigkeit (X-Men: Days of Future Past), and Ariana. Neal ( Hidden Figures ) will play Virgil, Mark, Anabelle, Samuel and Jess.
