Since the days of “The Real World,” reality TV has had a long and rich tradition of throwing groups of young twenties into their homes and seeing if they could connect. And the latest iteration of this type of show is “Are You The One?” By MTV. “Are You The One?” has aired for eight seasons so far. Here’s everything we know about the possibility of Are You The One Season 9.
However, this program differs significantly from all other “hot people at home” programs in the 21st century. That is, it is controlled by an algorithm, much like a dating app.
Most seasons of “Are You The One?” is in the same format: 10 people per season. Before the show starts, the producer uses an algorithm to determine which cast member is the “perfect” romantic couple, but more importantly, the producer shares that information with the cast. When members live together, they try to find out who their perfect match is. Each episode ends with a “marriage ceremony” to see if the couple are compatible. If competitors manage to identify all the perfect combinations, they will split the $1 million prize pool. but starting with Season 3, every time they make a mistake, the total prize pool will be decreased.
Are You The One Season 9: Release Date
MTV hasn’t announced whether or not the show will continue to another season, so it’s too early to expect a release date. And, due to the highly unusual situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is almost impossible to predict when another season will come out.
But let’s try to come up with something. The film premiered on January 21, 2019, from “Is it you?”. The length of the section is usually 6-9 months. However, thanks to COVID19, MTV is now operating on a different set of schedule. The Season 8 Finals aired on September 19, 2019, going past the 6-to-9-month deadline.
Due to the need for at least some physical contact between contestants, one of the last shows to resume filming during the pandemic was “Are You The One?” Initially, it may take six to nine months after the CDC says it may be safe.
Are You The One Season 9: Possible Cast
Since MTV hasn’t said anything about a ninth season or when it will premiere, it’s too early to say who might be in the cast. Based on the cast from most of the previous eight seasons, the Season 9 cast will be a host of young adults from across America looking for love.
But one thing we can say is that the Season 9 cast will probably be more representative than the previous seasons. Season 8 was a first in the show’s history to break away from its heteronormative past, bringing in 16 cast members who all fall somewhere on the pansexual spectrum. many reviewers, including Variety, see it as a step forward for LGBTQ+ representation.
But the possibility of “Are You The One?” reverting to that format, to the previous one, or to a completely different format is anyone’s guess.
What’s the location for Are You The One Season 9
Again, it’s too early to say. MTV certainly hasn’t announced a location for a season that hasn’t even been confirmed yet. However, the previous season’s location might offer some clues. Most of the seasons—but not all—have been filmed in places with warm weather and plenty of beaches.
A good candidate is Kona, Hawaii. MTV has filmed five of its eight seasons in the state—three of those five have been filmed at Kona, including Seasons 7 and 8. The other three seasons were filmed in the Gulf Coast/Caribbean region — Season 2 was filmed in Puerto Rico, Season 5 was filmed in the Dominican Republic, and Season 6 was filmed in New Orleans, Louisiana.
If Season 9 doesn’t return to Hawaii, it will probably be filmed somewhere else with great weather. California? southeastern US? Another Caribbean country? we can probably rule out places like Bangor, Maine.
