Bulgasal: Immortal Souls is a fantasy drama that revolves around two characters. The first is a woman who has gone through several reincarnations over the course of 600 years and remembers all of her past lives, and the second is a man who has lived for over 600 years as a bulgasal—a mythical creature that feeds off human blood and is cursed with immortality.
Dan Hwal used to be human 600 years ago. He turns into a bulgasal during the Joseon dynasty while working as a military official and completing a mission to erase the remnants of the previous dynasty. Min Sang Un was once a bulgasal but has reincarnated into a human.
After suffering the loss of her mother and twin sister at the hands of an unidentified murderer, Min Sang Un escapes with her younger sister Min Sa Ho and lives quietly in hiding. Although she works hard to conceal her name and identity, the appearance of a bulgasal alters her life of secrecy.
Ok Eul Tae is another bulgasal living in secrecy. He has enjoyed immortality for the past centuries and has accumulated immense wealth which he uses to control politicians, businessmen, and the media. With his decadent beauty and overwhelming charisma, he has all the ingredients to be the most powerful figure in Korea. Bulgasal: Immortal Souls Release Date
South Korean supernatural fantasy series ‘Bulgasal: Immortal Souls’ will be released on December 18, 2021 at 9 p.m. KST on the tvN network. it was originally supposed to be released in 2022. Due to some changes, tvN has decided that Bulgasal will take the Jirisan time slot, bringing another mysterious fantasy to the table.
As per reports, the drama will have 16 episodes. Each new episode of Bulgasal will be broadcasted on Saturdays and Sundays; each episode runs for 60 minutes.
Bulgasal: Immortal Souls Cast
Lee Jin Wook as Dan Hwal– Dan Hwal lived as a human 600 years ago. During the Joseon Dynasty, he worked as a military official. However, an incident occurred, turning him into a Bulgasal while completing a mission to eradicate the remnants of the previous dynasty. He became someone who could neither kill nor be killed. Since then, Dan Hwal has eaten human blood and is cursed with immortality which gives him eternal suffering.
Kwon Na Ra as Min Sang Woon– Min Sang Woon’s character brings another twist to the storyline. It reveals that he was once Bulgasal but reincarnated as a human. Her life is no different when she loses her mother and twin sister at the hands of a mysterious assassin. In order to end the suffering, she runs away with her younger sister Min Sa Ho and begins to live a quiet life while hiding from the world. Even though she made every effort to hide her name and identity, Bulgasal’s appearance changed her life of secrecy.
Lee Joon as Ok Eul Tae– Ok Eul Tae is another Bulgasal who lives his life in secret. Unlike Dan Hwal and Min Sang Woon, he had enjoyed immortality for centuries and had acquired enormous wealth. He used his wealth to control politicians, businessmen, and the media. With his irresistible charisma and sensual beauty, Ok Eul Tae has all the features to become the most powerful figure in Korea.
Gong Seung Yeon as Dan Sol– She is a daughter who comes from a prestigious, influential family. Dan Sol is Dan Hwal’s ex-wife. she ended up marrying him because of her father. However, she has possesses something special that nobody can understand.
Jung Jin Young as Dan Geuk– He is Dan Sol’s father and a powerful general.
