Netflix has strengthened its fan base in Europe by installing more regional content. Previous Danish shows such as ‘Trapped’ and ‘The Chestnut Man’ have garnered praise from native and overseas viewers. The event was also showered with praise from fans and critics, giving more reasons for the show to return. Lastly, the open ending keeps viewers wanting to watch more. Therefore, all were in favor of the show. Netflix typically takes two to three months to analyze view data. if season two is confirmed in March 2022, we can expect to see ‘Chosen’ season 2 to premiere in fall 2023.
Chosen Season 2: Expected Cast
Almost all of the main characters that stayed alive until the end of the first season can return to the possible second season. Malaika Mosendane will most likely take on the central role of Emma, alongside Andrea Heick Gadeberg (Marie), Andreas Dittmer (Frederik), Albert Rudbeck Lindhardt (Mads), Mohamed Djeziri (Elvis), and Magnus Juhl Andersen (Jonas).
Also those who may be returning to their respective roles are Anders Heinrichsen (Luke), Ken Vedsegaard (Thomas), and Marie Louise Wille (Susan). However, following the deaths of their characters in season one, Line Kruse (Lykke), Henrik Prip (Hans), and Nicolaj Kopernikus (Adrian) may be leaving the show. We might also see some new faces, but it’s too early to say anything about it.
Chosen Season 2: Expected Plot
The first season ended beautifully, though not before a few surprises. After a fight with her group, Emma sided with the alien Luke. Meanwhile, he realizes that Lykke is hiding something. After seeing Lykke with Susan and Adrian, Luke encourages Emma to call him. Emma meets Adrian at Mama Thai, and Adrian shows Emma his true form. Turns out, Emma herself is an alien.
With that revelation, Emma felt a threat from Luke. She returns home to find Lykke dead during a near-death encounter with Luke. As the car from Astraeus lined up in front of her house, Emma fled just in time. She regrouped with other foreign refugees at a location determined by Adrian. However, the spaceship exploded, bringing down most of the aliens. Luke bangs Adrian’s head while Emma goes unconcious.
The anticipated second season will probably show the impact of the end of the first season. Emma will probably be busy searching for more living things from her home planet while reconnecting with her old group. We’ll also get some closure on Emma’s love life as she might end up with Marie. Mads’ journey is also interesting to see, and we’ll find out if she’s indeed siding with Astraeus.
We’ll also see if Mads can pick up its external drive. After Lykke’s death, Emma may be forced to stay under the radar, but she may receive help from Susan. We’ll also get more insight into Luke’s character. Lastly, a possible second season might answer whether Emma and others like her can return to their home planet.
