Will there be Isekai Cheat Magician Season 2? Would a sequel ever be released?
Isekai Cheat Magician, as the title implies, is an isekai anime that falls under the action, adventure, and fantasy genres. The anime series follows a regular high school Taichi Nishimura, and his childhood friend Rin Azuma, as they are trying to find a way back home after being transported for an unknown reason to a world full of magical creatures such as beasts.
The anime series Isekai Cheat Magician is an adaptation based on a light novel of the same name written by Takeru Uchida with illustrations by Nardack. The series made its first debut online on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2012 and has been running since then even until today. Later, the light novel series was acquired by Shufunotomo, who has published the first volume physically under their Hero Bunko imprint in June 2013. As of October 29, 2021, fifteen volumes have been published in total.
Will Isekai Cheat Magician Season 2 be possible?
On April 16, 2018, it was announced that the series was getting an anime adaptation. The anime series was produced by Encourage Films, the studio that probably most of you haven’t heard of, as none of their anime releases has made it to the surface. Isekai Cheat Magician is their number one, followed by the anime series Hitorijime My Hero and Symphogear.
The anime series Isekai Cheat Magician had started to air on Jul 10, 2019, and ran for twelve episodes before concluding on September 25 of the same year. It was followed by the release of the 13th episode in the form of a special episode on Jul 5, 2021. After the release of the last episode, many of the fans are wondering whether there would be a sequel or not. So, will there be Isekai Cheat Magician Season 2 to continue the story?
As of now, we haven’t received any official statement from the author or the studio regarding Isekai Cheat Magician Season 2. We don’t know whether the anime series will be renewed or canceled. However, it is best to believe that Isekai Cheat Magician Season 2 would never be released.
The main reason is that the anime was not well received by the majority of the audience. There are many reasons for them to hate the anime series, but the most common one according to MyAnimeList’s forum is that the anime was very generic, to the extent where it is boring to watch for some. Many of the fans were unpleased, and that being said, it could affect the sales of the series for the worse.
In fact, the anime series has received a depressing score of 5.42 in MyAnimeList, and even some of the fans consider this anime as the worst isekai.
However, the novel series is currently still being published and it could provide more than enough source material needed for a season renewal. But, in the end, it would not be necessary as the anime adaptation was clearly made for marketing purposes and that the anime was made to boost the sales of the source.

Not only anime, but Isekai Cheat Magician also comes with a manga adaptation by Karin Suzuragi. It has been published in Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Shōnen Ace on December 26, 2016. The latest chapter, which is the tenth, was released on July 26, 2021.

As regular high school students, Taichi and Rin disappeared in a beam of light. When they came to, the two of them were already in a world of swords and magic. Finally getting away after experiencing an attack by monsters, following the suggestion of adventurers they headed on the path towards the guild. In the guild, the two of them found out that they possessed unbelievably powerful magic. Thus the regular high school students transformed into the strongest cheats.
