After successful two seasons, Netflix has officially confirmed that there will be Never Have I Ever season 3.
This American comedy romance teenage drama premiered on April 27, 2020, on Netflix. The second season followed on July 15, 2021.
Created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, this show follows the story of a teenage Indian-American girl named Devi Vishwakumar who tries to survive in an American school while trying to break the stereotypes of Indian slash South Asian.
She is involved with her school, friendship, and relationship, while also struggling with her family and culture. The story is inspired by Mindy Kaling’s experiences when she was younger in Boston.
Never Have I Ever has been such a huge hit. It becomes one of Netflix’s most watched series in 2020.
So with that kind of enthusiasm, it is not surprising when they decided to move it forward with Never Have I Ever season 3.
When Will We See Never Have I Ever Season 3?
On August 19, 2021, Netflix (13 Reasons Why) has officially confirmed that there will be Never Have I Ever season 3.
The second season was just released this year. And since the filming began in November 2021 and it is still under development, we can expect to see Never Have I Ever season 3 in the mid of 2022, if there is no delay and everything is done according to the plan.
Never Have I Ever Season 3: The Plot
So how the story will go in Never Have I Ever season 3?
In the season 2, we can see that Devi has been dealing with two boyfriends. She initially also plans to move to India, but ends up her grandmother stays in the US.
Devi asks Paxton to go to the winter dance with her, but Paxton rejects her, which leads her to cry in the school bathroom. Ben then comes to comfort her. In the night, Paxton comes to Devi’s bedroom and apologizes. He says that it is humiliating for him to be seen in public with Devi, and that’s why he proposes to have a relationship in secret or not at all. Devi agrees to secretly have a relationship with him.
However, later Devi realizes that she has more worth and she can’t be with someone who is ashamed of her. And now she’s single.
Later in the winter dance, while all of her friends are dancing with their partners, Devi who feels sad decided to go home, only to get hit by a car which is driven by Paxton who changes his mind. They end up dancing and breaks Ben’s heart. That’s pretty much the end of the second season.
In Never Have I Ever season 3, we can see how Paxton and Devi’s relationship will be full of challenges. It will not be easy, and it will tell us whether their relationship will last or not.
The cast of Ben, Jaren Lewinson, also says that Ben will be questioning his relationship with Aneesa, since he still has feeling to Devi.
And as the characters are approaching college, maybe we will see that the end of the series is near, since the show will not last forever. It is not to say that Never Have I Ever season 3 will be the last season. But as the cast are getting older, it seems impossible for them to stay as high school students.
Who Will Return in Never Have I Ever Season 3?
Never Have I Ever season 3 most likely will feature the original main cast. They include Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi Vishwakumar, Darren Barnet as Paxton, and Jaren Lewison as Ben.
There will also be Lee Rodriguez as Fabiola, Ramona Young as Eleanor, Richa Moorjani as Kamala, Poorna Jagannathan as her mother, and many others.
Also, don’t forget about our iconic narrator, the former tennis player John McEnroe, whom we will hear again in Never Have I Ever season 3.
