Platinum End: Receives An Anime Adaptation + Teaser

As part of the “Jump Festa” event, it was announced today that the manga series Platinum End by the Death Note duo Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba will receive an anime adaptation, which will start on Japanese television in autumn 2021.

Anime is produced in Signal.MD

The series is directed by Hideya Takahashi (“JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind”) in Studio Signal.MD. Shinichi Inotsume (“PERSONA 5 the Animation”) is responsible for the series composition, while Koji Odate (“No Game No Life”) contributes the character design. Masanori Ikeda is CGI director and Takatoshi Hamano is the sound director.

Author Tsugumi Ohba and illustrator Takeshi Obata, who together produced the successful works Death Note and Bakuman. started Platinum End in November 2015 in the Jump SQ magazine. Shueisha has published 13 volumes in Japan.




After Mirai’s family dies in a car accident, he comes to his uncle and aunt. But his life there is unbearable and so he jumps off a high-rise roof on the last day of middle school. At the last moment, however, the angel wet him and explains to him that everyone has the right to happiness. It equips him with special abilities and gives him the chance to give his life meaning again.
