This television series is based on a popular novel called The Saxon Stories by Bernad’s Cornwell.
After the show’s release on both BBC Network platforms in 2015, the show was picked up by Netflix (The Witcher Season 2, The Crown Season 5) in 2018. After that, the show was broadcast under their broadcast channel.
The story is a historical drama based on Uhtred who is the main protagonist of this series.

Will there be The Last Kingdom Season 5?
Netflix (Too Hot To Handle) then ended their doubt by announcing that Season 5 of The Last Kingdom is about to be released. In addition, the platform has secretly revealed that the sixth season, an adaptation of volume 10 is being prepared.
The ninth volume, published during the year 2015, with the title “The warriors of the storm”, will be adapted to the screen. The Last Kingdom Season 5 tells the story of the main character, Uhtred, during the war between the Saxons and the Vikings. In addition, season 6 will be the adaptation of the tenth volume “The Flame Door” released a year later in bookstores.
While waiting for the new adaptations, fans will not be disappointed with the exciting adventures of Uhtred. Since the books entitled “Saxon Stories” are still being prepared, fans will be well served.
The Last Kingdom Season 5 Release Date

In the coming season, Uhtred will decide that he is more than just a king of Bebbanburg. He realized that his power is more dominant than he can actually conquer England itself.
But with the temptation of power, all we have to do is wait for it on the road. In reality, Uhtred is tasked with training Aethelstan’s eldest son for a warrior, but he wants more.
EP Merchant, who said about the plot of The Last Kingdom that, I think we want to tell the story of these separate kingdoms coming together and how this union happens and is Uhtred also returning to Bebbanburg? Does he have his dream? Does he find his legacy? And what is his involvement in the rapprochement of these kingdoms?
As the show follows the story of author Cornwell’s Saxon’s original book, we could see a lot of similarities with the story. Season 5 of The Last Kingdom will be based on the ninth book titled Warrior of the Storm. According to one report, the series will additionally look for some of the incidents based on book 10 titled The Flame Bearer.
