Sony and Columbia Pictures have revealed that Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage will be rated PG-13 like the first film in the symbiote series.
After many delays of its release date, the universe has finally decided that the second Venom sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, has officially arrived. The sequel will be a follow up of Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) with the aliens he shared a body with after their origin story in Venom 2018. This time Andy Serkis is in charge of the director’s chair and Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady has been unleashed with a brand-new wig and a known murder symbiote as a “carnage” in itself. The hype, as they say, is real thanks to the extremely confusing, notably un-chill times we’re living in.
Don’t worry, here is your complete guide to watching Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
What Is “Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage” About?
Directed by Andy Serkis, Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) returns for the sequel. Woody Harrelson joins the cast as Cletus Kasady, a serial killer imprisoned by Brock’s journalistic coverage. When Brock visits Kasady in prison, Kasady bites Brock, spawning Carnage by mixing his DNA with Brock’s and Venom’s. Female characters also appear as they are sucked into the battle between Venom and Carnage.
Venom 2: Let Be Carnage 2021 Release Date
After several delays, the sequel Venom 2 was originally scheduled for release on October 2, 2020, before being pushed back to June 25, 2021. Unfortunately, the original release date couldn’t be set and Sony pushed Venom: Let There Be Carnage back to September. 17, 2021. After its minor dela,y it is now scheduled for release on September 24. In the UK, however, the date has been moved up to September 15.
Where to Stream Venom 2: Let Be Carnage
Venom: Let There Be Carnage will release exclusively in theaters in September 2021. The Venom sequel will require you to go to the cinema to see it. Let There Be Carnage will be released in the UK on September 15 and the most of Europe will follow in the following days. Starting September 24, Venom: Let There Be Carnage will be available in the United States.
The good news is that Venom: Let There Be Carnage Streaming Free is directed by Ruben Fleischer and will only be available for free streaming with a DirectTV subscription. Otherwise, Venom 2 will likely soon be available to stream on Netflix. Thanks to the recent deal, Sony signed a deal with Netflix (Ozark) last month, agreeing to ship Sony 2022 releases to Netflix once the films are released on PVOD or premium video-on-demand. Venom 2 is not a 2022 film, so it’s not a guaranteed part of the pay 1 window deal with Netflix. (The “pay 1 window” is the period in which rights for a film are available to premium cable networks like Starz and HBO.)
The premiere of Venom 2 is going to be huge. It will most likely go into the Starz network due to a pre-existing agreement with them. If the film actually hits theaters (which I doubt), it will also be available through Hulu and other services if you sign up for their add-on later after the initial release date has passed by about 6 months or so from now–right around March 2022 to June next year).
Disney made a deal with Sony to bring Spider-Man and other Marvel properties, like Venom 2. But it won’t release until 2021.
The good news is that Venom: Let There Be Carnage will soon be available to stream on Netflix (Zero Chill). If you can’t wait for Eddie Brock’s return, your best bet is to see the film in theaters because it was a huge hit. Meanwhile, there are also DVDs and Blu-rays for sale at home if waiting isn’t an option for us anymore.
