Into the Night is getting a second season on Netflix. The series is known as the first Belgian Netflix Original and certainly didn’t do badly since its release on the streaming service. The thriller follows a group of people aboard a flight. They turn out to be one of the few survivors as the sun kills everyone in its path. Behind the scenes, a second season is now hard at work. Into the Night is inspired by the Polish sci-fi book The Old Axolotl by Jacek Dukaj. It turns out there is enough material left to make a second season as well. In the first season we were already introduced to the various survivors. At the end of the season the group ended up in a bunker where they can escape from the deadly radiation.
Once the two groups end up in the bunker, they are soon told that there would be a solution to the problem with the sun. However, it is missing an important character who has been left outside. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the group will be allowed to stay in the bunker In season 2, we undoubtedly seem to be going to see the solution to the problem.
Into the Night Renewed for Season 2
The first season of Into the Night was released in early May and two months later it became clear that a second season would also be ordered from the Belgian series. This was not a big surprise, as the Belgian series had been doing extremely well up to that point. On Rotten Tomatoes the series even had a score of 88% to boot. The creator of Into the Night said at the time, “We are speechless by the worldwide response to Into the Night and I am thrilled by the fact that we will be doing a second season.”
The cast of Into the Night season 2
As of yet, little has been confirmed surrounding the cast of season 2. At least we know that Coen Bril has a role in the second season of Into the Night. The Dutch actor will be playing the role of Heremans, a Dutch soldier who resides in the old Soviet military bunker in Bulgaria.
In addition, we also seem to see a number of cast members from season 1 back. These include Pauline Etienne as Sylvie Bridgette Dubois, Jan Bijvoet as Richard “Rik” Mertens and Mehmet Kurtulus as Ayaz Kobanbay. In season 1, we also said goodbye to a few characters. Thus, among others, we do not seem to see Terenzio (Stefano Cassetti) again in season 2.

Netflix (The Last Kingdom) hasn’t yet announced much about the release date for the second season of IInto the Night is a Belgian apocalyptic sci-fi drama thriller streaming television series created by Jason George, inspired by the 2015 Polish science fiction novel The Old Axolotl by Jacek Dukaj. The series premiered on Netflix (Monarca) on May 1, 2020. It is Netflix’s (Ragnarok) first Belgian original series. On July 1, 2020, the series was renewed by Netflix (“The Rain, Into The Night Season 3“) for a second season. The second season premiered on September 8, 2021.
