With the new season of The Blacklist premiering just a few days ago on NBC/Peacock, a lot of fans are probably wondering whether or not we will get The Blacklist Season 10. As new episodes and an entire season of new The Blacklist is still not enough for the long time fans of the show.
A lot of fans are probably wondering how the show looks like after another season of unexpected betrayals and fresh plot twists? Well, you don’t need to hand yourself to the FBI to find out about the news, we are here to tell you everything you need to know about The Blacklist Season 10!
Will there be The Blacklist Season 10?
Well hold off to your horses just now, the new season of The Blacklist just premiered a few days ago! Even though The Blacklist has been running on NBC/Peacock for an entire decade with consistently high ratings, it’s understandable why they haven’t announced any renewals for The Blacklist Season 10 yet.
As more episodes of its ninth season air, they want to monitor its rating first before pulling the trigger. And thankfully, the show is doing really well right now! NBC (Manifest) has moved the slot for The Blacklist to Thursday night, replacing Law and Order: For The Defense. The Blacklist now allocates the primetime slot which means NBC (Songland) believes in the show staying power for now.
The Blacklist is also streaming darling as it’s one of the most popular shows on Netflix globally, so assuming Season 9 continues the show’s streak of good viewership both as it airs and on streaming, expect NBC (Good Girls) to quickly announce The Blacklist Season 10 to be on the way but not until the end of 2022. After all, making a 22 episodes TV show takes a lot of effort.
Who will be in The Blacklist Season 10?
Lead actor James Spader will come back for another season, in part not only because he is carrying the entire show behind his charisma and performance but The Blacklist storytelling is centred around the character he plays, Raymond “Red” Reddington.
Megan Boone, who played FBI Handler Elizabeth Keen, announced that she was leaving the show after Season 8 even though she’s also the main character. Accordingly, the show killed her off by the hand of the season antagonist Towsend and his associates in the Season 8 finale and no, she won’t even return as a flashback in The Blacklist Season 10. The show doesn’t really do flashbacks either.
That being said, it is still difficult to say what the full cast will look like in The Blacklist Season 10 when Season 9 was just getting started, but the show now has to make do without one of its main protagonists. So keep an eye on this page as we will update it accordingly as more news comes up!
What’s the story for The Blacklist Season 10?
Originally inspired by the capture of Boston mobster Whitey Bulger, “The Blacklist” has become an unusual procedural drama show because of its unique perspective. Each episode is about how the FBI and Raymond work in tandem to eliminate people off “The Blacklist”; a long list of dangerous criminals and terrorists he has known worked and associated with.
Raymond motive’s and interest in FBI Profiler Elizabeth Keen and why Raymond decided to work with the FBI were gradually revealed during its decade-long run, but a lot of things are still played close to the chest. In an interview with Collider, former showrunner John Eisendrath commented that “One of the incredibly fun things about working on a show like this is that you are trying to imagine how a criminal would look at things.”
Obviously, the new and freshly released Season 9 will determine what happens in The Blacklist Season 10, but the format of the upcoming season will still be the same. Raymond and FBI work together to eliminate people off The Blacklist one by one while building the greatest mystery the show has built up in Season 8. If the real Raymond died a long time ago, who is “Raymond” who are working with the FBI now?
Who knows, maybe we will get the answer in Season 9. Or they are saving the smoking gun for The Blacklist Season 10. In any case, you can catch up on The Blacklist on Netflix (Ozark) and keep yourself updated with mysteries of your favourite shows, here at The Awesome One!
