For those of you who love to watch thriller and mystery TV series, we have a great news for you this New Year, since there will be a new TV show called The Tourist.
Getting stranded in an unfamiliar place, almost die, and even worse, forget about who you are and your whole identity, is the worst case scenario that one could’ve imagined. And that is pretty much what happens in The Tourist.
Created by Jack and Harry Williams, it will tell us the story of a British man who goes into the Australian Outback and gets into a car crashed on the road by a big truck. When he wakes up in a hospital and badly injured, he doesn’t have any memory left regarding who he is and other important memories.
Jamie Dornan will play the the main role on the show, and there are other several brilliant names including Shalom Brune-Franklin and Danielle Macdonald as well. They will explore the backlands of Australia and the mystery revolves around it.
Not only that, The Tourist will also tell us further about his past and the dark truth—that may involve people who want him dead. The plot may be familiar and not so unique, but the actors and actresses as well as other interesting elements of the show, make The Tourist can be something new with its thrill and action.

When Will We Get to See The Tourist?
The good news is, you don’t have to wait any longer to see The Tourist. It has been officially announced by NBC Network that the TV series will be released on Saturday, January 1, 2022, exactly on the New Year. It will be aired on BBC One and iPlayer.
Some people may get so excited that they even have waited for The Tourist season 2. Unfortunately, since the first season even hasn’t been officially released yet, it is too early to predict if there will be the second installment. The creators have to assess whether the show gains enough ratings and viewership to continue the show.
The Tourist: What Is It About?
As mentioned earlier, The Tourist tells us the story of a British Man who travels through the Australian Outback. He is driven off the road by a big truck which crashes his car. After he get rushed to the hospital, he finds out that he cannot remember anything about him: his own identity and what he is doing in Australia.
Not only that, he later also finds out that there are some people who try to kill him for some unfinished businesses.
So pretty much it will be full of mystery, thriller, action, and drama, that will keep us watching the show until the whole truth is revealed.

There are some amazing actors and actresses that will appear on The Tourist. That includes Jamie Dornan as the main role, Danielle Macdonald as Helen Chambers, Shalom Brune-Franklin as Luci Miller, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Billy Nixon.
There will also be Alex Dimitriades as Kosta Panigiris, Damon Herriman as Detective Inspector Lachlan Rogers, among others.

While we are waiting for the New Year to see The Tourist, fans can feel glad to know that BBC has released the official trailer.
From the trailer, we can see how the nameless British man gets a car crashed and later he has to find out everything about him including the people who want him dead.
