The US TV channel Adult Swim announced that the anime adaptation of “Uzumaki” will premiere in October 2022 after another postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can check out a new teaser below the article.
Uzumaki Anime Release Date
Director Hiroshi Nagahama explains in the video that the COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on the production of “Uzumaki,” which is why they had to postpone the horror series. In addition, the original plan had to be changed once again. He asks fans to be patient until next year.
The four-part mini-series will be directed by Nagahama (“Mushi-Shi”) and produced at Studio Drive (“Vlad Love“). Composer Colin Stetson (“Hereditary”) is responsible for the music. Production I.G. USA and Adult Swim are serving as co-producers.
The original manga by Junji Ito (“Junji Ito Collection”) was published in “Big Comic Spirits” magazine from January 1998 to August 1999. Uzumaki is also one of the most anticipated new Upcoming Anime.

Uzumaki: Spiral into Horror Action
In the town of Kurouzu-cho, Kirie Goshima lives a fairly normal life with her family. As she walks to the train station one day to meet her boyfriend, Shuuichi Saito, she sees his father staring at a snail shell in an alley. Thinking nothing of it, she mentions the incident to Shuuichi, who says that his father has been acting weird lately. Shuuichi reveals his rising desire to leave the town with Kirie, saying that the town is infected with spirals.
But his father’s obsession with the shape soon proves deadly, beginning a chain of horrific and unexplainable events that causes the residents of Kurouzu-cho to spiral into madness.
