1. They Hear It
They Hear It is based on the short movie with the same name released in 2018. This tells us the story about multiple characters who are able to hear an evil presence called O Som. O Som begins to haunt everyone who hears it.
The release date in 2022 is only an estimation. Although it is still developed, considering the success of the short film, many people really can’t wait for They Hear It full movie version.
2. The Crooked Man
The Crooked Man is another spin-off from the movie “The Conjuring”, just like “Annabelle” and “The Nun”.
In “The Conjuring 2”, The Crooked Man is a toy that belongs to the Hodgson Family, whom Ed and Lorraine Warren is trying to help to defeat Valak.

3. Nope
After directing two popular and spectacular horror/thriller movies, “Get Out” and “Us”, Jordan Peele is announcing his next project, Nope. It is reported that Nope will have a tone of racial conscience (just like his other movies that have been mentioned earlier). The movie is planned to star Steven Yeun, Keke Palmer, and Daniel Kaluuya.
4. Firestarter
If you are a fan of Stephen King, there’s a good news for you. This movie is adapted from Stephen King’s novel of the same name. This movie will star Zac Efron and Ryan Kiera Armstrong, and will likely to be released in 2022. The main characters will have the ability to ignite fires. This movie originally released in 1984, and this 2022 version will be the remake.
5. The Black Phone
Directed by the “Sinister” filmmaker Scott Derrickson, The Black Phone is based on a short story by Joe Hill. Starred by Ethan Hawke, this is the story of Finney Shaw who tries to run away from his kidnapper with the help of the voices of the dead. The voices are connected through the title phone.

6. Halloween Ends
A very popular horror movie, the next and final trilogy of Halloween undoubtedly makes its way to be one of the most anticipated horror movies of 2022. 7. Scream (Panic 5)
The serial killer with its iconic mask is back to action. This franchise movie will also include the original characters such as Sidney, Dewey, and Gale
It is officially announced that Scream will be released in January 14, 2022, so in the meantime, check the trailer first before the full movie makes you—literally—scream.
8. Morbius
Premiered in January 2022, Morbius is actually have been delayed for so long. This movie is from Marvel, but it will be a bit different than another superhero movies. As the villain of Spiderman, this horror movie will combine both superhero and vampires theme.
Morbius, the living vampire, will be starred by Jared Leto. Many fans—both superhero and horror freaks—are really looking forward to this movie, and that’s why it is one of the most anticipated horror movies of 2022.
9. Fear
Reported to be released in Valentine’s Day weekend in 2022, this follows a story about a vacation that turns into a nightmare, thanks to a contagious airborne threat.
It relates so much to our current situation with COVID-19 pandemic, but hopefully by the time this movie is released, this pandemic is nothing but a history *finger-crossed*.
10. Evil Dead Rise
Two sisters are trying to survive from horrifying creatures as well as save their family. This is the fifth part of the franchise “Evil Dead”. The producer revealed that Evil Dead Rise is in the development and expected to be released in 2022 on HBO Max.
11. Dark Harvest
Based on the novel with the same title by Norman Partridge, this is the story about a small town that is terrorized and haunted by October Boy. The filming is scheduled to start in August this year, and the movie will be released on September 9, 2022.
12. Wendell and Wild
Be ready to watch Wendell and Wild on Netflix in 2022, although the exact release date hasn’t been announced yet. If you love the horror animation movie “Coraline”, you will love this one as well, since they are made by the same director, Henry Selick.
