The Exorcist Reboot: What Will It be About?
Basically, The Exorcist Reboot franchise follows the same premise: the exorcism of people who get possessed. David Gordon Green was reported want to continue the original story rather than remake it. This time, Ellen Burstyn will reprise her role, and Leslie Odom Jr. will join the cast. With that, we can expect The Exorcist Reboot to refresh the story and keep the essence of the original movie.
Jason Blum was once quoted saying, “I want to make a movie that works for both (audiences). I want to make a movie for people that know and love the first Exorcist and are furious that we’re doing this, but somehow drag themselves to the theater. I want them to come out happy. And I want to make a movie that people who’ve never heard of The Exorcist really enjoy. I think David did that with Halloween. I think he’ll do that with The Exorcist also.”
There is no official storyline that has been revealed for The Exorcist Reboot. However, the original movie focuses on the little girl named Regan who shows disturbing behavior like urinating on the floor and says bad words.
After many kind of doctors undergo some tests and checks on her doesn’t come to fruition, her parents seek help from a priest at Georgetown University. Two priests named Father Merrin and Father Karras come to try and help her. They do the exorcism to Regan, which is very much terrifying.
The Exorcist Reboot: Who Will be The Cast?
It will be very interesting to see the original cast to return in The Exorcist Reboot. That includes Ellen Burstyn as Chris MacNeil and Linda Blair as Regan MacNeil. Unfortunately, Jason Miller (who played Father Damien Karras) and Max von Sydow (who played Father Lankester Merrin) have passed away, so the priests will be played by new cast.
