The previous season of The Flash has been an enjoyable blast compared and makes a lot of fans feel excited about The Flash Season 8. Once again CW delivers another string of beloved TV shows with a dedicated fanbase.
The show (The Boys) is based on the titular DC Comics Superhero, and CW (Legends of Tomorrow) featured a more modern reincarnation of Barry Allen. The Flash premiered back in 2014 to speedy success and served as a flavourful expansion to the Arrowverse/CW-verse from the series CW’s Arrow.
A lot of us probably rush to google to find more information regarding Season 8, if ever comes out. So don’t worry, we’ll get you up to speed whenever The Flash Season 8 accelerate itself into our TVs once again.
Will there be The Flash Season 8?
Yes! CW (Roswell New Mexico) has confirmed that The Flash Season 8 are scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, November 16th 2021 over on The CW.
The new season will become the start of a five-part crossover even that has been mysteriously and intriguingly titled “Armageddon”. While many seem to think that it would be just a rehash of Crisis on Infinite Earths that The Flash has done before, this Arrowverse / CW-verse crossover should be a different beast entirely because it’s entirely contained within The Flash.
Despite that, it’s like the crossover events will have an impact on the show and everything beyond the Speed Force. Speaking of Speed Force…
Who will return in The Flash Season 8?
Season 7 finale saw Barry (Grant Gustin), Iris (Candice Patton), Bart (Jordan Fisher), Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy), Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp) and a literal physical embodiment of the Speed Force itself triumph over the speed devil Godspeed. In the end, we see Godspeed imprisoned in Iron Heights. So we’ll see our usual team of speedsters return in some capacity.
But another threat looms on the horizon for our speedy hero, considering The Reverse-Flash fled the scene in the wake of the showdown between Barry and Godspeed. Taking this into consideration we can anticipate and make an educated guess that Flash’s arch-nemesis will return in the forthcoming episodes of Season 8.
And has been told that Season 8 will feature a five-part crossover, other superheroes from DC/CW shows might make an entrance such as Arrow (Stephen Amell), Firestorm, Atom (Brandon Routh) or maybe even Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) plus many, many more!
Aside from the regulars, The Flash Season 8 will bring a new character unseen in other CW (The Originals) shows or even the DC Cinematic Universe. Despero, the powerful alien being introduced in print back in 1960 will make its debut on the silver screen. Despero was first seen in DC’s Justice League of America #1, and in The Flash Season 8, he will be played by Doctor Who veteran Tony Curran. Talk about a deep cut villain!
What’s the story for The Flash Season 8?
There’s still little to be known about the story, but Show Producer Eric Wallace has already said that the season will chronicle Barry’s journey to becoming a “confident, incredibly powerful, secure team leader.”
His marriage with Iris will be put to the test and, meanwhile, Joe and Cecile are sure to experience hiccups in their relationship too. Additionally, there has been talk of focusing the lens on Iris’ time sickness, Kristen Kramer’s powers and beyond. So if you were not a fan of the more focus on Iris in this show, you might want to sit Season 8 out.
But the good news for long-time comic fans is that we’ve already been treated with a sneak-peek at Grant in the new Flash outfit, sporting some gold boots with a costume that conforms more to the comic book aesthetics of the character. Fans of Flash in the comics are in for a treat.
And other than the officially confirmed new villain of the show, the official trailer from DC Fandome teases what fans can expect including several new villains to make their mark on the series, with a big splash of the world of horror and supernatural. Something The Flash has rarely ever touch in the series or in the comics for that matter.
But there are still more we don’t know yet, so keep yourself updated on The Awesome One for the fastest information regarding The Flash Season 8!
