What first is seen to be a parody, turns out to be an interesting TV series from Netflix. And after its first season, will they continue with The Woman in The House Across The Street from The Girl in The Window season 2?
Created by Rachel Ramras, Hugh Davidson, and Larry Dorf, The Woman in The House Across The Street from The Girl in The Window is an American dark comedy thriller TV series which is basically a parody of several mystery psychological thriller movies (one of them is Netflix’s The Woman in the Window).
This TV series follows the story of a woman named Anna Whitaker, a painter who still recovers after her daughter murdered three years ago and her subsequent divorce. After the tragedy, Anna becomes an alcoholic and having a phobia to rain, as well as having some hallucinations. She is doing the same routine everyday: being addicted to wine and staring out the window the whole day. Until one day she witnesses what she thinks is a murder in the house across the street.
Executively produced by Will Ferrell, the first season consists of eight episodes, with the duration of around 22 to 29 minutes each episode.
When the show first announced, many people underestimated it, seeing it as nothing but a parody. It turns out the TV series is good, with its mystery and major plot twist. It also has a hint of satire, where women sometimes unheard and unbelievable.
Unfortunately, it also has many major plot holes, and thus it receives mixed reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gives it an awful score, with 56% critics review and 50% audience score. Meanwhile, IMDB gives it 6.4 out of 10 scores.
So with that kind of scores and also positive feedbacks from its fans, will they continue with The Woman in The House Across The Street from The Girl in The Window season 2?
The Woman in The House Across The Street from The Girl in The Window Season 2: Release Date
Actually, The Woman in The House Across The Street from The Girl in The Window has always been planned to be a miniseries or one-season-only TV show. However, the end of the first season shows the opposite. So it wouldn’t be such a surprise if the series moves from a limited series into a continued one.
Therefore, Netflix (Sweet Tooth) hasn’t said a word regarding The Woman in The House Across The Street from The Girl in The Window season 2. But, if they finally decide to move it forward, we could see The Woman in The House Across The Street from The Girl in The Window season 2 in 2023 at the earliest.
The Woman in The House Across The Street from The Girl in The Window Season 2: Possible Plot
The first season of The Woman in The House Across The Street from The Girl in The Window shows us a cliffhanger ending. At the end of the first season, we can see that Anna gets back again with her ex-husband, and they have another baby. On her way to New York, on the airplane, Anna—stupidly—took a pill with vodka again, making her having hallucination all over again—or is it real, since before the season ends, she finds something as a proof that it actually happened.
In The Woman in The House Across The Street from The Girl in The Window season 2, we may see it picks up from where it left off. Anna might investigate whether or not the woman on the airplane is actually murdered, or is it just her hallucination.
People might not take her seriously again, since she just combined alcohol with a pill. Maybe, this time Anna really can learn one thing: shouldn’t combine alcohol and pill if your therapist says so, considering the bad effect it can give you. But then again, if she doesn’t do it, she wouldn’t hallucinate, and therefore there wouldn’t be a story, no?
It might also be inspired by novels like ‘The Woman in Cabin 10’, just like how the first season also inspired by novel and movie.
The Woman in The House Across The Street from The Girl in The Window Season 2: The Cast
If there is ever The Woman in The House Across The Street from The Girl in The Window season 2, we can expect Kristen Bell to return as Anna. Michael Ealy would probably reprise his role as Douglas. We might also see Glenn Close as the woman in seat 2A on the airplane.
In the second season, we might not see Tom Riley as Neil, Shelley Hennig as Lisa, and Samsara Yett as Emma, since they are killed in the first season, except in flashback scenes.
There will be many new faces and characters as well, as the story develops with a new murder case.
