It was disclosed in September 2017 that the production of another pirate of the Caribbean film was still in the works by producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Last but not least, it was stated in May 2020 that Bruckheimer had suggested that the first draft of the screenplay for the sixth film would be done shortly.
